Covid-19 in Cremona

I write this not as one intervening heroically in the midst of despair but as one privileged to have stood alongside fellow healthcare professionals in a time of global struggle. I believe that many healthcare professionals I know and have worked with would say that this is the job. We are honoured to stand eye to eye with suffering and pain, to wrestle with illness hand-in-hand with the patient, to see healing and to strive for dignity and peace in death. To see the Cremona hospital overcome the Covid-19 outbreak and regain their capacity to care for their community-was a joy.
